Setting of the goals, 2025 edition

Writer's picture: Josh BlackmonJosh Blackmon

It’s almost 2025 so let's set 25 goals for the new year.

Each year I do New Year goals or resolutions. This year I want to change it up a bit. I can’t take total credit for it because I saw the idea on TikTok, but for 2025 I am doing a goals BINGO card. 25 goals (including 1 freebie).

But as always, let's start with some song lyrics, in total transparency, my musical choices this year have been a little on the somber and depressing side. Not necessarily a reflection of myself, but I was finishing up a book and my playlist found itself pretty low-key.

So I’m just going to go with a single lyric from a song that in it’s entirety does not reflect my world outlook, but this lyric is upbeat.

“Don’t you give up on me yet.”

Don’t you give up on me met, Jonah Kagen

So here is a look at 2024 goals:

• Learn a dying or lost artisan craft.

I made one of those woven potholder things. Does that count?

• Reown a piece of clothing that I once loved.

Yes! I bought myself a new (old) version of my blue anchor hoodie.

• Set a workout habit and stick to it.

I legitimately ate better and more consistently this year.

• Sell the film/TV rights for Roller Derby Vampire Girl.

No, but to be honest I lost my focus on this trying to get the last book out.

• Never be limited by lists.

I did some pretty cool stuff this year.

So here is this year's:
